Day 1: Arrival day - 18/01
Arrival at Colombo International Airport, where your private English speaking driver will meet you. Private transfer to the nature villa nearby. The ideal place to relax in the beautiful garden or at the swimming pool after your long flight. Feel free to arrive a day early if you need some time to relax before we start the trip. After the briefing, we will enjoy a welcome dinner with the group. Overnight at peaceful nature lodge.
Day 2: Relax - Yoga - Optional excursion to Colombo 19/01
You will notice that a day started with Qigong-Yoga feels different. A perfect place to relax in the beautiful garden or at the swimming pool. We will arrange transportation to explore the hidden secrets of Negombo or Colombo. Overnight at peaceful nature lodge.
Day 3: Safari - Wilpattu 20/01
We will take the coastal road towards Wilpattu National Park. In the afternoon we will check in at our unique Ecolodge, a magical place where luxury meets nature, blending to give you a matchless experience on the borders of Wilpattu National Park. Surrounded by dense forests of the nature reserve, the ecolodge gives you stunning views of the rich biodiversity in the canopy top as exotic wildlife awakes, and the sun peeks through trees in the distance. Late afternoon our guide will take us on a Safari at Wilpattu, home to large number of Leopards, wild elephants, bears, kingfishers, monkeys and Sambar deer. Wilpattu is one of the most beautiful national park in Sri Lanka, offering the greatest variety of animals. Dinner and overnight stay at rustique nature lodge.
Day 4: Anuradhapura Ancient city
After breakfast we will drive towards Anuradhapura's ancient city. In the afternoon we meet the local guide in town, where we will jump on our bicycles to explore UNESCO's World Heritage site of Anuradhapura's "Atamasthana" or eight sacred places. Among the ruins, you'll see the sacred old Bo Tree, a spiritual reminder of the beginnings of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and the inspiration for Anuradhapura's great buildings. Dinner and overnight stay at rice field view lodge.
Day 5: Mihintale - Minneriya: 22/01
After breakfast we will drive to Mihintale, where we will visit Linda who has been building a waterfilter station, schools, toilets and houses to provide the basic needs of villagers. We will travel to Habarana, which will be our base from where we will explore Sigiriya area. After having a refreshing dip in the pool our driver will take us to Minneriya National park. A local nature guide will take you on a wildlife jeep safari, where we have a big chance to spot some wild elephants. BBQ dinner. Overnight stay at Habarana nature lodge.
Day 6: Cycling and view over Lion Rock 23/01
Today we will go for a scenic bike ride on red earth back roads through villages, farms and rice fields. We will also hike on Pidurangala rock, the stunning view over Lion Rock is worth all the effort of the steep hike. Most part of the climb is shaded, but the last part is harder and not shaded. After a relaxing lunch, Dinner and overnight stay at Habarana nature lodge
Day 7: Dambulla cave - Yoga & Nature Ecolodge: 24/01
After breakfast we will drive to Kandy (about 2,5 hours drive). On the way we will explore the impressive Dambulla Cave Temples which are located high on a stone cliff face, with numerous steps to enter. This wondrous UNESCO Heritage-listed site is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Some 150 Buddha images adorn the five caves, with fascinating frescoes and paintings on the walls and roofs. In Kandy we will visit the temple of Tooth Relic, Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist site. Mingle with the white-clad pilgrims who come here to worship. After the temple visit you can walk around the lake. In the evening we will be welcomed at our nature retreat with a delicious dinner.
Day 8: Nature hike and cooking course
Morning Yoga. We will go for a guided nature walk through local villages along mountain paths to a waterfall. We will learn about the village lifestyle, local spices and wildlife that you are immersed in. In the afternoon we will learn more about the Sri Lankan cuisine during a traditional cooking class. Overnight at nature retreat.
Day 9: Nuwara Eliya: 26/01
Morning yoga. This is the ideal place to relax in a hammock and listen to the sound of nature. After saying goodbye to the wonderful team nature retreat, we travel south towards Nuwara Eliya. Warm welcome at the Plantation bungalow. The chef will welcome you and cook a delicious homemade dinner. Overnight at Boutique Homestay
Day 10: Horton Plains: World’s end
We leave the homestay at 5.30 am and enjoy our packed breakfast later during our hike at Horton Plains. We enjoy sunrise during this beautiful hike to the World’s end with stunning views, we need to arrive early as after 10 am the mist will start to rise. After the hike we will enjoy the scenic ride towards Ella. Sunset over the mountains. Community dinner at the Organic Tea Estate. Overnight at Clove tree Cottage.
Day 11: Organic Tea Estate and Ella Rock: 28/01
Tour of the organic farm and the artisanal tea and coffee production. After lunch the local guide will take us to Ella Rock. After our rewarding hike, we will have dinner in Ella. Overnight at Clove tree Cottage, Organic Tea Estate
Day 12: From mountains to beach
Optional hike to Eagle rock for sunrise, a superior version of Mini Adam’s peak, with views 50 km South over the ocean. After breakfast we leave this unique nature get-away and will travel towards Tangalle beach. A colonial beach villa, nestled in the beautiful nature will be our base for the next 2 days. The Chef will welcome us with homemade delicious local food, with fresh herbs and ingredients. There is a swimming pool where you can refresh anytime.
Day 13: Yoga, wellness & beach time: 30/01
We start our day with yoga at this unique beach retreat. The beach is only 5 minutes walk from where we stay. Relax under a palmtree or at the swimming pool. We will go for a sunset walk along the untouched beach nearby. We close our rejuvenating day with a meditation practice under the stars.
Day 14: Galle: 31/01
Sunrise yoga or beach walk. We will travel towards Galle, where we will check in our nature bungalow. After relaxing a few hours at our lovely nature lodge, we will visit Galle which is home to an impressive World Heritage-listed Dutch fort with extensive walls and many interesting old buildings. We will enjoy an evening stroll around the historic fort. Last night dinner and overnight stay at historic nature bungalow.
Day 15: Departure day: 01/02 (or extend 1 night with departure on Feb 2th)
After our closing circle, we can arrange your transfer from Galle to Negombo (2,5 hours drive) international airport for your international flight. Feel free to extend your stay for another night at this unique bungalow. We offer this flexibility so you can choose to plan your return flight on Feb 2th.
